    Andrew Paul Demers, 79, beloved husband of Priscilla Therrien Demers, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., died suddenly, Oct. 31, 2009, at East Cooper Regional Medical Center.

    The relatives and friends of Andrew Demers are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial tomorrow (Wednesday), Nov. 4, 2009, in All Saints Lutheran Church, 2107 N Hwy 17, Mt. Pleasant, S.C., at 10 a.m. Arrangements are by J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at the Mt. Pleasant Chapel from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

    Andrew was born in Fairfield, Vt., son of the late Elie and Marie Rose Noel Demers. He was a veteran with the U.S. Army, and was a faithful member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church. He worked for Pratt & Whitney, with 35 years of service.

    He is survived by his beloved wife, Priscilla Therrien Demers; and his cherished daughters: Diane and John Nolan, Elaine and John P. Machnicki Jr., Lisa and James Patrick, and Karen and Daniel Stafko. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren: Alyssa and Krista Nolan, John, Jessica, and Catherine Machnicki, David and Jeffery Patrick, and Nicholas, Michael and Kimberly Stafko; two sisters, Helen (Jacques) Bourbeau of St. Albans, Pauline (Roger) Renaud of Massachusetts; and one brother, Marcel of Florida. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Armand and Bernard Demers.

    The family requests memorials be made to the “Building Fund” of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, 3850 Bessemer Rd., Suite 120, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. 29466.
